com·mit·ment [ kə mítmənt ] (noun): 1) responsibility: something that takes up time or energy, especially an obligation. 2) loyalty: devotion or dedication, e.g. to a cause, person, or relationship
Responsibility and Loyalty – two of my favorite words. I can see how if you were not raised to respect these two things, making a commitment (and certainly sticking with) might be challenging for you. Others may find it easier to commit to someone else in their lives but not themselves.
When you commit to a healthy body and lifestyle, this is exactly what you are doing. Taking a responsibility and a loyalty to yourself – your health and longevity. I encourage you to internalize this as you commit, or re-commit, yourself to your fitness and/or health.
